This Annual Report recieved.png

As my inaugural project with the Historic Oakland Foundation, I was tasked with designing the 2025 Annual Report. This flagship publication showcases the foundation’s impact, community reach, and financial stewardship over the past year.

Working with the foundational visual identity established by Son&Sons, I translated the brand framework into an engaging, multi-page print publication that balances historical reverence with contemporary, high-impact graphic design.

First Place (Gold) Winner: 2026 Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) Publications Competition —

The Challenge & Strategy

Honoring the Brand System:

Extracted and expanded upon key design elements from the existing Son&Sons visual identity, maintaining brand integrity while bringing fresh energy to the layout.

Strategic Editorial Design:

Applied dynamic typographic hierarchy, balanced grid layouts, and intentional whitespace to elevate scannability and reader engagement.

Impact-Driven Storytelling:

Paired compelling imagery with clean data visualization to highlight key community achievements and historical preservation efforts.

An annual report needs to do more than present data: it must tell a cohesive story. The primary objective was to transform complex metrics, donor recognition, and year-long milestones into a clear, visually immersive narrative that resonates with stakeholders, donors, and the broader community.
